By merging German engineering excellence with local construction capabilities, we deliver highly efficient and cost-effective systems where only the essential technical equipment is imported. Choose Aqualimpia for a reliable, high-performance, and custom waste-to-energy solution.
30 Years of Global Expertise: A solid track record in the design and construction of biogas plants worldwide, establishing us as a benchmark in the renewable energy sector.
Deep Tropical Climate Specialization: With over 15 years of continuous operation in Latin America, we have mastered "tropicalized" technology, specifically engineered to thrive in high-temperature and high-humidity environments.
High-Quality German Engineering: We implement the most rigorous German technical standards, ensuring high efficiency, long-term durability, and maximum operational safety.
Bespoke, Custom-Engineered Solutions: We reject generic designs. Every unit is engineered from the ground up, strictly tailored to the specific waste composition and requirements of each project.
Local Construction for Cost Optimization: Our unique model allows civil works and structures to be executed by the client, or by local companies using local materials. Only critical, specialized technical equipment is imported from Germany, significantly reducing the initial investment.
Power Substrate Management: Proven experts in treating challenging wastewater with high organic solids—such as poultry litter, vinasse, and industrial sludge—transforming environmental liabilities into profitable energy assets.
It is not a passive anaerobic lagoon. Continuous mechanical agitation system that ensures complete mixing of the volume, permanent suspension of solids, and optimized biological kinetics.
Our CSTR systems utilize advanced mechanical agitation to maximize biogas production and ensure superior COD degradation. This continuous mixing prevents the formation of scum and foam, maintaining a stable and highly efficient anaerobic process
Additional Benefits of our CSTR Technology:
Total Volume Optimization: Eliminates "dead zones" by ensuring the entire reactor volume remains active, maximizing your investment
Thermal Uniformity: Maintains a consistent temperature throughout the tank, preventing biological stress and ensuring steady gas flow.
Enhanced Mass Transfer: Increases the contact between microorganisms and organic matter, allowing for higher organic loading rates (OLR).
Sediment Management: Prevents the settling and compaction of heavy solids, significantly extending the intervals between maintenance cleanouts.
Bypass Prevention: Eliminates hydraulic short-circuiting, ensuring all feedstock undergoes the full required retention time for maximum degradation.
All our digesters are equipped with a specialized pumping system designed to extract sludge and sediments from the bottom of the lagoon. This proactive management prevents the progressive accumulation of solids, ensuring the reactor maintains its full operational capacity over time and eliminating the need for costly shutdowns or manual dredging after years of operation
Including a bottom-pumping system is a critical competitive advantage for the following reasons:
Maintenance of Active Volume: It prevents accumulated sludge from displacing valuable space intended for biogas production and liquid substrate. A sediment-free digester consistently operates at 100% of its design capacity.
Extended Operational Lifespan: It eliminates the need to empty and manually clean the digester every 3 to 5 years—a process that is both extremely costly and hazardous. This allows for uninterrupted operation for decades.
Nutrient Recovery (Bio-fertilizer): The extracted sludge is rich in stabilized nutrients. This system enables controlled extraction for immediate use as high-quality organic fertilizer.
Protection of Pumps & Equipment: By periodically removing heavy sediments and grit, the system reduces abrasive wear on recirculation pumps and other internal components, lowering maintenance costs.
Process Stability: Accumulated sludge can create acidification pockets or release undesired compounds. Constant purging ensures a balanced and healthy biological environment for methanogenic bacteria.
AQL CSTR lagoon digester have become the industry leaders in anaerobic digestion because of its proven ability to make systems which work efficiently. Our systems are tailored to the unique site and business of each client.
This maximizes energy production and waste management, while minimizing cost. With more than 50 installations internationally, AQL digesters use proven german technology that completes systems on time and on budget.
